Red Châteauneuf du Pape

Domaine André Mathieu
Domaine André Mathieu

The 9 hectares of vineyards used to make this cuvée are spread across several different terroirs within the appellation, producing the 13 grape varieties. Traditional winemaking methods and 12-14 months’ ageing in old “foudre” barrels give the wine a ruby-red colour with aromas of small red berries and spices. This is an elegant wine whose tannins integrate well with its rounded flavours. It will be nicely balanced after 4-6 years’ cellaring. Best served at 16°C with roasted and red meat, game birds and cheese.

La Centenaire
La Centenaire

The vineyards’ oldest vines, planted at the start of the 20th century, produce the fruit for this cuvée. The aromatic complexity that comes from the appellation’s 13 different grape varieties yields a full-fleshed, rounded and silky wine with elegant tannins. The ideal accompaniment to rib steak, casserole, large game and cheese. This wine has very good ageing potential and can be cellared for 5 to 20 years.

24 months’ ageing (in new and 3-years-old barrels) and 13 different grapes varieties, with a predominance of Mourvèdre, give this cuvée its distinctive character. Either drink young for its tannic structure or after 10 years’ ageing for its balance on the palate. Vin di Felibre displays a deep, dark-red hue with plum and blackcurrant aromas plus the scent of undergrowth. This supple, powerful wine is the perfect complement to large game, cheese and chocolate desserts.
